Understanding Online Privacy—A Systematic Review of Privacy Visualizations and Privacy by Design Guidelines

Privacy visualizations help users understand the privacy implications of using an online service. by Design guidelines provide generally accepted standards for developers services. To obtain a comprehensive understanding privacy, we review established approaches, distill unified list 15 attributes and rank them based on perceived importance experts. We then discuss similarities, explain notable differences, examine trends in terms covered. Finally, show how our results foundation user-centric visualizations, inspire best practices developers, give structure to policies.
